To sum up (all pun intended), it refers to a "unified whole." So, last night's Yankees barrage of home runs allows me to link in the Simpsons movie with Mr. Rodriguez's quest for 500. Ah, closure.
P.S. And as we learned previously from The Simpsons, "No one who speaks German could be an evil man."
